       The Meaning of RYKANDO KWAN MOO SA

 

The word RYKANDO literally means “The way of one to many”.

“RY”

Taken from Tang Soo Do’s Ryu Pa (style).

Ryu Pa means, “The River flows down then spreads into others streams. An instructor will preserve his art by teaching others, they in turn will mature then become instructors their selves, then pass on their knowledge to others, and so on.

If the small stream separates from the main river, it will eventually dry up, as it has no longer a supply of water.

“KAN”

Implies method or technique. The term KAN, was used in the Korean Yi  Dynasty (1392 to 1907) for one of 18 techniques of Sip Pal Ki (also known as Sip Pal Ban, or Sip Bal Byong Ki).

“DO”

The way of, or the style of doing
